I was raised with a Biblical worldview that included an understanding that my obligations as a steward of God’s creation included the continuing obligation to make the world a better place physically and spiritually. As one of my Boy Scout leaders (a Christian) once put it (partly in jest and partly seriously), “Why should God give you a new Earth when you haven’t taken care of the old one?”
