I have known dog fighters (“Dogmen” as they like to call themselves) and many “cock fighters” as well. They are a “sick lot” without a doubt. Yet, not as sick as a society that looks the other way about the muderous act of aborting babies.

Good parallel.

I think that the reason this dogfighting scandal has the “world system” outraged is because most of the world doesn’t dogfight or know people who dogfight…therefore, its easy to point the finger and say “How could you?”

On the other hand, abortion is so touchy because many people know people who have had abortions and its not as easy to say “how could you” especially when the act is not only morally permissible, but legal.

Our world system is logically backwards and they refuse to see it. Thankfully, the Gospel can shed light on this “foolishness.”

Thomas – you nailed it. This was exactly what I was thinking about – all this righteous indignation – even from Christians – over cruelty to dogs, but silence when it comes to murdering innocent children who have yet to be born!

In China, and the “one child policy”, the abortion rate is astronomically worse than in America, but you kinda expect something like that in their social environment. How America, with it’s Christian heritage, can escape God’s judgment amazes me. God truly is slow to anger…
